DAY 284-October 11th

Sometimes this week, Casey and another classmate, along with another student in a higher grade read this over the loudspeaker one morning.  I do not know which day it was.  It has to be either on a Tuesday or Thursday since I help out in Casey's classroom on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.   Her class was learning about diversity.
this is what was said over the loudspeaker..

Good morning, boys and girls.  We're here to talk to you about diversity.

My name is Allison F. and my parents can speak Spanish.

My name is Lily S. and my parents can speak Armenian.

My name is Casey F. and my parents use American sign language to speak.

Allison:  And you know what they say.....

Lily:  Do your homework!
Casey:  Behave yourself!
Allison:  Clean your room!

Allison:  So you see, even though they may speak different languages, they're really saying the same thing.

And that's diversity and that's what makes our (school name) so great.

Casey brought home the paper that she read off of. :)   No pictures for today.
